The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Family, Community, Housing and Youth Inquiry into Homelessness Legislation

Submissions to the inquiry closed on 14 August 2009. The Committee received 92 submissions. Click here to view submissions.
The Committee is currently conducting Public Hearings and the remaining two will be held in Canberra on Wednesday 21 and 28 October, 2009. Click here to find out more about the public hearings.

The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights released its report on Australia on 25 May 2009.

December 2008
The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted an Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights on 10 December 2008. Adoption of the Protocol is currently being considered by the Australian government. The Protocol will be open for signature in September 2009. See here for more information.
